This list is an example of common conditions Mark manages, but is not exhaustive:


Acute hand and wrist trauma and fractures:


  • Metacarpal, phalangeal and thumb fractures
  • Tendon, nerves, blood vessel, skin, fingertip and nailbed injuries
  • Distal radius, ulna, scaphoid, carpal fractures and dislocations
  • Wrist ligament injuries and instability

Arthritis of the hand:


  • Metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints, proximal interphalangeal joints, distal interphalangeal joints

Arthritis of the thumb:


  • Carpometacarpal (CMC) / trapeziometacarpal (TMC) joint, metacarpophalangeal joint, interphalangeal joint

Arthritis of the wrist:


  • Radioscaphoid joint, radiocarpal joint, midcarpal joint, scapho-trapezio-trapezoid joint, distal radio-ulnar joint

Dupuytren's Disease:


  • Open and percutaneous (needle) surgery. Xiapex (collagenase) injections.

Hand swellings:


  • Ganglions, mucous cysts, carpal boss, giant cell tumor etc.

Hand infections.


Peripheral nerve injury and entrapment and compression.


  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Entrapment of the Ulnar Nerve at the Elbow (Cubital Tunnel Syndrome) or Wrist

Tendon injuries and problems:


  • Trigger finger, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, tendon rupture, De Quervain‚s syndrome, flexor tendon injuries, extensor tendon injuries
  • Sports Injuries: fractures, ligament or tendon injuries eg. Finger and thumb injuries from rugby or football.
